The
Community Antimicrobial Stewardship (CAS) program is an initiative of the BCCDC promoting the wise use of antibiotics and other antimicrobials through education, outreach and research with community practitioners and public audiences.
The Provincial Antimicrobial Clinical Expert (PACE) group is a subcommittee of the BC Health Authorities Pharmacy and Therapeutics Committee (BCHA P&T) and is composed of representatives from health authority antimicrobial stewardship programs, the BC Ministry of Health and the Provincial Infection Control Network (PICNet). Through a coordinated approach, the group aims to optimize antimicrobial use, prevent resistance and other unintended consequences of antimicrobial agents in BC hospitals and long-term care facilities.
